These are a few aerial shots taken from the airplane as I returned to California from Alaska in September, 2008.

Chugach Range from the Air

A view of the southwestern Chugach range, somewhere between Anchorage and Girdwood. It was taken from the window of a Boeing 737 from about 9,000 feet so I didn't expect it to be very clear but was pleasantly surprised when I scrutinized the digital file. The week before this photo was taken there had been light snow off and on above 1,500 so these less lofty Chugach peaks got a good dusting.
